If you're looking for the perfect holiday destination in Southeast Asia, look no further than the world-famous seaside resort of Nha Trang in Vietnam. Walk along beautiful beaches, swim and dive in the warm waters of the Pacific, even feed wild monkeys during the day, while you spend your nights socialising or enjoying its more urban offerings.
The Wonders of Nha Trang
While Nha Trang is considered more lively and urban in character than other beach destinations, such as Mui Ne and Phu Quoc, the island's natural beauty and cultural heritage remain its greatest attractions. For one thing, it is considered the best diving location in Vietnam, as evidenced by the number of dive shops. Listed below are some of the must-see sights in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Walk, swim, dive, or socialise, you can do it all and have it all during your trip to this beautiful island.
Monkey Island
This 33 ha island located at Nha Phu Lagoon is a great base for diving and snorkelling. The beach itself is pristine and the water nearly always calm, which is why it is popular for families with children who come to Vietnam. Walk along its beaches and you'll see proof of the island's untouched state: more than 1,000 monkeys that freely roam the paths and the nearby forest. Visitors can feed them fruit or corn, but watch out as they can be pretty grabby and their numbers may sometimes be overwhelming. They are generally friendly and safe to interact with, though, and are a great favourite among tourists.
Thap Ba Hot Springs
If what you're looking for is to recuperate from the stresses of life on your walking holiday, look no further than the Thap Ba Hot Springs, a destination that is considered the most relaxing place in Vietnam. Walk around in this serene village-styled spa and you'll feel immediately relaxed. The springs are famous for the healing and therapeutic powers of the mud and mineral waters. Here, tubs (which can seat up to around four people, perfect for a spa day with your friends) are filled with hot mud and heated to approximately 38 ï°C. Bathers sit in the hot mud for around 15 minutes, after which they shower off the mud and head for the mineral baths, which are slightly hotter at 40 ï°C. There's generally no limit to how long you can stay soaking at the bath, but more than 40 minutes is not recommended. Then, you're free to enjoy the spa's swimming pool or opt for any of the spa's other services and offerings.
